Black Tea

Black tea can help in stimulating the immune system, inhibiting the growth of cancer, soothing arthritis, fighting Alzheimer, decreasing the production of LDL - the "bad" cholesterol, and in weight loss. It has antioxidants that protects cells from free radicals. Black tea can stimulate an insulin response and reduce blood sugar levels, which has been linked to better regulation of appetite. The trace element fluoride inhibits tooth decay. It can expand the airways, making breathing easier for asthmatics. Black tea can neutralize germs, including some that cause diarrhea, pneumonia, cystitis and skin infections. It has anti-inflammatory properties. A low amount in black tea promotes blood flow in the brain without overstimulating the heart. The caffeine in black tea sharpens mental focus, improve short term memory and concentration.

Vitamins and minerals: Black tea contains vitamins (A, B, C, E and K), minerals (like fluoride) and antioxidants.

Effect on body odor and bad breath: Tea can stop the growth of bacteria. Researchers in Chicago have found that the polyphenols in tea can not only reduce the output of the volatile sulfur compounds by 30%, but they make it more difficult for the bacteria to multiply. The polyphenols active in this remedy are catechins and theaflavins. Catchetins are found in both green and black tea, and theaflavins are only found in black tea.

Remedy: If you don't have problems with caffeine you can drink black tea daily. Soak your feet every day, in a solution of black tea (2 tea bags in 2 cups + 2 qt of cool water) .

Warning: Black tea may decrease the absorption of folic acid into the blood stream. The caffeine in black tea could cause dangerous drug interactions (like MAO inhibitors). Black tea may interfere with treatments of arrhythmia, heartburn, ulcers, anxiety, and insomnia. Too much tea can discolour your teeth.
